Electrical engineering discipline meets a stubborn curiosity about what AI agents can actually build—and what still needs a person.

The engineer

Alastair Fraser earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Kansas. His professional work spans space and defense, circuit and board design, RF and microwave systems, satellite communications, avionics and network architectures, requirements, testing, troubleshooting, trade studies, and technical leadership.

The builder

For years, programming was the toll booth between an idea and a useful test. Agents reduced that toll. Alastair now uses them to research markets, build websites and software, operate online stores, create content, test products, and improve practical workflows.

That does not mean the systems run without him. The agent researches, drafts, proposes, and builds. Alastair chooses the direction, inspects the output, approves public work, probes failure cases, and decides what deserves trust.

The author

He wrote The Agent Advantage to document what worked, explain what broke, counter the hype around autonomous businesses, and show non-programmers how to supervise capable tools without pretending the tools are safe or infallible.

Working philosophy

Research → Propose → Approve → Build → Verify → Improve

AI can perform labor. Humans retain direction, priorities, taste, risk decisions, final approval, and accountability.
